Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:

• Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
• Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
• Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
• Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
• 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
