Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a man who jumped a barricade and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A circulating clip reveals the Australian man shoving aside photographers and charging at Grande while the cast made its way down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though official papers revealed that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

History of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user wrote.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Many supporters accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more message on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had gathered in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore mall, including several who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the popular Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the unexpected relationship between two very different witches.

The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and received a dozen Academy Award nods, winning a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
